Fusion Team Building: 7 Tips for Better Pokémon Fusions

Practical tips for choosing Head and Body Pokémon in the Pokemon Fusion Generator to get better types, balanced stats and great-looking fusions.

Six fused Pokémon lined up as a team

Whether you’re planning a fan-made team or just chasing the coolest design, a few simple rules help you get more out of the Pokemon Fusion Generator.

1. Decide what you want from each parent

The Head controls colours and the special stats. The Body controls the shape and the physical stats. If you want a fast physical attacker, put a fast, strong Pokémon in the Body slot.

2. Always check both orders

Charizard × Gengar (Charigar, Fire/Poison) and Gengar × Charizard (Genizard, Ghost/Flying) share parents but differ in typing, stats and colours. The Swap button shows you both in one click.

3. Use second types on purpose

The fusion takes the Body’s second type. Dual-type Bodies such as Gyarados (Water/Flying) or Dragonite (Dragon/Flying) will usually pass on Flying. Single-type Bodies pass on their only type.

4. Pair high HP Heads with strong Bodies

HP is Head-led. Snorlax, Lapras and Chansey make excellent Heads for bulky fusions. Lapras × Dragonite (Laponite) has 117 HP and 117 Attack.

5. Mind the Speed stat

Speed is Body-led, so a slow Body gives a slow fusion. Squirtle × Snorlax (Squirlax) has only 34 Speed, while Magikarp × Mewtwo (Magitwo) reaches 113.

6. Pick contrasting colours for the best art

Palette transfer looks most dramatic when the parents’ colours differ a lot. Try a dark Head on a light Body, or the other way round: Gengar’s purple on Charizard, or Charizard’s orange on Gengar.

7. Save and share your team
